KAN Books, Know Allegiance Nation’s bookstore served as our one of our primary classrooms for literacy instruction for several years. The space served the youth, and community well. In the images, the young people were tasked to brainstorm important tidbits about their life and then create a bio for themselves. There were young people there from 3 and up. Everyone had an opportunity to participate. The youth in the Illuminate: Literacy Entrepreneurs program used the time to create bios for their literacy businesses to let people know more about them as emerging authors and artists.
